Alexander Aleksandrovich Alekhine was a Russian chess grandmaster and the fourth World Chess Champion. He is widely considered one of the greatest chess players ever.

In 1921, Alekhine left Soviet Russia, he represented France since 1925. In 1927, he became the fourth World Chess Champion by defeating José Raúl Capablanca.
